Next Monday will be my official start date as the ISTA UniServ Director for Unit 20 and as such, I am resigning as President of the Evansville Teachers Association, effective April 13, 2015. Over the past two years, we as teachers have experienced many difficult changes to our profession, and it is my hope that all members feel as though the Association was able to provide some clarity in the midst of uncertainty and guidance even when the circumstances were not optimal.
During the transition period, I will continue to serve Evansville, and any members seeking advice or representation should feel confident that they can contact the office or me directly and get the service they need. First Vice President DeLyn Beard will fill in on an as needed basis, and any members who have ongoing representational needs will continue to have those needs met. At the end of the month, members will elect new ETA officers and board members, and I will work with the newly elected ETA President to transition them into their new role as efficiently and seamlessly as possible.
Thank you for your support during my term as ETA President, and I look forward to continuing to serve you in my new role.
