School Counselor Evaluation Rubric

Domain 1: Academic Achievement (20% of total rubric)
                Competencies:
                *1.1    Effective use of data and collaboration (4%)
                *1.2    Student development and academic achievement trends (4%)
                *1.3    Student goal setting and action planning (4%)
                1.4      Problem solving, critical thinking, and other activities (2%)
                1.5      Guidance activities and materials (2%)
                *1.6    Developmentally appropriate academic preparation (4%)

Domain 2: Student Assistance Services (30% of total rubric)
                Competencies:
                2.1    Assists all students in acquiring the attitudes, knowledge and interpersonal skills to help them
                           understand and respect self and others (6%)
                2.2    Facilitates all students’ understanding of safety and survival skills (6%)
                *2.3  Counseling services (9%)
                *2.4  Provides services to all students, fostering a clear understanding of diversity, ethnicity, and
                         culture (9%)

Domain 3: Career Development (20% of total rubric)
                Competencies:
                3.1     Comprehensive career program (4%)
                *3.2    Relationship between academics, personal qualities, education and training, and the world of
                            work (6%)
                *3.3    Application of strategies to achieve future success and satisfaction (6%)
                3.4      Data analysis, research-based interventions and programming for lifelong learning and career
                            readiness (4%)

Domain 4: Collaboration and Professional Responsibility (30% of total rubric)
                Competencies:
                *4.1    Professional Growth (6%)
                4.2      Leadership and advocating for the profession (3%)
                *4.3    Collaboration (6%)
                *4.4    Professional standards of ethical practice (9%)
                4.5      School counseling programs (3%)
                4.6      Effective management and academic programming support (3%) Note: this may include other
                            school duties assigned by the administration, provided these assignments do not interfere with
                            the counseling program and services to students.
