The focus of the Service Learning grant from NEA Priority Schools is on beginning new service learning work and sharing that work with colleagues.
ETA members who are interested in participating in the program will first attend the training session offered by Youth Resources of Southwestern Indiana. The session is approximately 3 hours in length and will be held on Thursday, August 21 from 4-7 PM. Teachers who attend the training session will be paid a PD stipend of $20/hour. Each session is limited to a maximum of 50 participants. The registration deadline for this session has passed.
Following the training, teachers will submit a completed program and classroom grant application. The due date for these applications for Fall 2014 is September 12, 2014. An ETA grant screening committee will review the applications and determine which projects are accepted into the program and which projects requesting classroom grants are awarded funding.
Upon completion of the project, teachers may submit a project completion report within 21 calendar days of the completion of the project in order to be eligible to receive a $250 stipend. Participating teachers may also submit a project sharing report within 21 calendar days of the completion of the project in order to be eligible for an additional $250 stipend. Both reports will be reviewed by the ETA grant screening committee before any stipends are awarded.
