Were you aware that state conventions held by the Democratic and Republican parties play a crucial role in electing certain statewide nominees like lieutenant governor and attorney general? Political conventions provide an opportunity for delegates to meet candidates and discuss the party’s platforms which guide members of the party on where they should stand on important issues, including education.
It’s because of important decisions like this that I-PACE encourages ISTA members to make their voices heard as delegates to their own party’s state conventions. There are no better public education advocates than ISTA members. We urge you to take the step of becoming a delegate at either the Republican or Democratic Party state conventions, where your voice can truly shape elected officials’ stance on public education.
I-PACE reimburses members up to $50 of the convention delegate registration fee. This reimbursement will be paid after you have attended your state party convention and have submitted your voucher with receipts to [email protected].
I-PACE will have a caucus room at each convention and provides a box lunch for those attending.
